Scissor Sisters: Something Like This - Played 60 times.
Scissor Sisters - Something Like This

It sounds like Kraftwerk wrote a song for Kylie Minogue and the Scissor Sisters covered it. Obviously NOT a bad thing.

“I don’t want to be an old man anymore; it’s been a year or two since I was out on the floor.”
I haven’t been out dancing since I lived in London and that was nearly two years ago. This needs to change.
Cake - Frank Sinatra
//

Definitely one of my favorite album openers. Fashion Nugget as a whole is pretty great but there were times as a teenager when I would put my CD player on “track repeat” and just close my eyes…
The Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky
//
I’ve heard the accusation before
And I ain’t gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing.
It’s a new day in a new week and already I want to get back in bed and let the music keep me warm.
Lisa Miskovsky - Still Alive (The Theme From Mirror’s Edge) [Radio Edit]
//
It’s a shame Lisa isn’t more well-known because she makes some lovely music.
Well, she’s about to get a little more shine as she’s just done the theme song to a video game. It’s not her best track (because she has some real knockouts) but with Still Alive she suckers me in with her opening assertion of change. I’m all touchy-feely at the moment and this song hits the right chord.
BTW, there are loads of dance mixes to this but I think they’re all below the standards of the contributors. Although the Benny Benassi radio mix flirts with greatness for a bit.
Supertramp - Take The Long Way Home
//

When lonely days turn to lonely nights
you take a trip to the city lights
And take the long way home
Take the long way home.
You never see what you want to see
Forever playing to the gallery
You take the long way home
Take the long way home.

There are times when all the world’s asleep,
the questions run too deep
for such a simple man.
Won’t you please, please tell me what we’ve learned?
I know it sounds absurd
but please tell me who I am.
And the question is, was i more alive then than i am now?
I happily have to disagree.
I laugh more often now; I cry more often now.
I am more me.
I had never actually seen the video for Peter Bjorn and John’s Objects of My Affection until today, but it reminds me of when I first got Writer’s Block after I had just left Amsterdam for London. I still get chills when I hear this song. Man, I love music. LOL
