Boney M. - Rasputin

Boney M. remains a mystery to the average American, but elsewhere in the world they were undeniably massive. Masterminded by Frank Farian (the man behind Milli Vanilli), the group released some great pop songs. So many that it was hard to choose which one to post first.
I decided on Rasputin because quite simply it’s one of the most insane pop songs I’ve ever heard and I love it. Especially the line at the end… LOL

Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band - Cherchez La Femme

Wikipedia describes Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band as “a big band/swing/disco band” but until you hear them for yourself, it’s hard to imagine what that might actually sound like.
This particular song is most familiar to people as the one sampled for Ghostface Killah’s Cherchez La Ghost. I prefer the original and not just because it refers to the band’s manager of the time, Tommy Mottola, “blowing his mind on cheap grass and wine.” Although one has to wonder what Mottola (AKA Mariah Carey’s first husband and the former head of Sony Records) thinks of the song now? lol
